Net return over one lump-sum period.
Net ending value = ending value − entered fees.
Simple return = net profit or loss ÷ initial investment × 100.
CAGR annualizes the net value multiple over the exact whole-month duration. It is unavailable at a zero net ending value.
This method does not model deposits, withdrawals, irregular cash flows, IRR or future performance.
Know what the result means.
Why can simple return and CAGR differ?
Simple return describes the whole period. CAGR expresses the equivalent compounded annual rate over that duration.
What if fees equal the ending value?
Net ending value becomes zero, simple return is −100%, and CAGR is shown as unavailable.
Can I include monthly contributions?
No. This calculator is for one starting amount and one ending value. It does not calculate IRR.
